There are two things that can happen most weeks. One is achievement and other is Learning. Achievements are personal, there can be a time and place for discussing them. Every place is not for it. And there might not be one of them every week. Sometimes getting through a week in itself can seem like an achievement 🙏

But Learnings are worth documenting and sharing. If we put them out there, every time someone likes, shares or comments on it we are reminded of it. It is also easy to forget learnings. So it helps sharing them.

“More than knowing new things; sometimes we need to be reminded of what we already know” This is a quote I heard a long time back. So here are some recent learnings for me and (may be) reminders for others.

Sometime you need to be like a gold fish. An important advice I received when I was worrying too much about something that was over and done with for everyone except me.

You don’t have to be the first to answer every single question in a meeting. You don’t even have to answer every question even if it is your meeting. All questions are not directed at you.
🤫
Adding to the previous ‘Q&A’ point. I tend to feel responsible for every block of silence that happens in the meetings I facilitate. But sometimes we need to let that silence stay there and grow till it reaches the person who has to break it with a responsible response.
💡
“The need to be famous becomes the only reason to exist” I read this in a book and I could see the tragedy of the Social Media that had consumed a good part of my life last several years. And I recently deleted Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, or YouTube from my phone as part of a DeTox.

While Win-Win is great strategy the perspectives of ‘Victory’ and ‘Losing’ can be different. This misalignment can impact the way either one of us look at the final outcome. Win-Win needs more than just a focus, it needs alignment.
📚
Take notes when you read a book. If it is your book. Use a pencil. Put a tick mark on the part you want to come back to. In the back of the book write the page number.

See you next week !
Have a great weekend
