Telling we don’t know how to do something is very important and it just helps us and the company we work for. It gets us the help we need to learn and do our job better.
Now the question is does our company and our team and our manager give us that freedom to say so. If not we have a problem.
I say this because today I said that to my manager. I told him that ‘I don’t know how to do something’ and it was ok. He was ok. The moment I said that I felt lighter and I was in the path to learn what I don’t know.
I was able to say that because I know it would not be used against me.
Over the years as we do things for a long time others start feeling we should be knowing everything. Sometimes even we start laboring on such delusions.
The best thing when we say we don’t know how to do something is it starts our learning process. Till that point we are stuck.
Build a culture where people can be honest about their kmowledge gaps. It creates better companies.. better teams and better people.

The picture above is from 2010 as I decide to say goodbye to one stage of my life and enter a new one. I decided that because I told the world I was not good at something and started a totally new journey from start.
